The Problems DPI Helps Companies Fix

DPI helps companies fix unclear ownership, weak handoffs, poor communication, inconsistent follow through and process breakdowns that lead to overtime, quality issues, missed deadlines and safety risk.

Results From Real Operations

DPI focuses on finding the process issues that create delays, rework, safety exposure and unnecessary stress inside the operation.

In one operational review, DPI identified more than $40,000 in revenue leakage, 70% underutilization of a paid operating platform and $105,000 in unrealized annual value that could be recovered through better structure, communication and process control.

Project Examples

Material Flow and Production Support Improvement

DPI helped a manufacturing operation reduce waiting time by redesigning material flow, point of use staging, visual support signals and forklift use.

The operation was not short on forklifts. The real issue was how material moved through the facility.

The project reduced average workstation wait time from 48 minutes to 9 minutes, reduced active forklift demand from 4 forklifts to 2 and recovered more than 58 productive labor hours per day.

Operational Assessment and Field Service Improvement

DPI completed an operational assessment for a growing field service business that was struggling with owner dependency, inconsistent workflows, underused technology, communication gaps and safety program needs.

The assessment reviewed how work was scheduled, handed off, completed, billed, communicated and managed across the business.

DPI identified the root causes and developed a phased improvement roadmap focused on better operational control, crew communication, platform utilization and safety infrastructure.

The examples below show how DPI work connects process improvement, operational control and safety.

Each project focused on finding the real breakdown, putting practical controls in place and helping the business operate with less disruption.

Safety Program Support and Safety Committee Development

While developing safety programs for a company, DPI was asked to help with a recurring hand injury issue.

The review identified that the gloves being used did not match the actual work risk. After the glove selection was changed, the prior injury pattern was eliminated and the company only experienced a few first aid cases.

DPI then recommended Safety Committee Development to help sustain the improvement, involve employees in identifying risk and continue solving safety issues internally.

Workplace Organization and 5S

DPI supported a workplace organization improvement focused on reducing searching, improving consistency and making work easier to manage. The work used practical 5S principles to create standard locations, visual organization and a repeatable method for handling work.

Client Feedback

DPI work is based on practical experience, direct observation and solutions that people can actually use.

“He can’t help but find ways to tweak our operation for improvements to ergonomics, efficiency and overall productivity.”
